Greetings wherever you are in the world, and welcome to the Consciously Creating Zen blogspot! Here, you will find tools, ideas, and perspectives all focused on assisting you in developing the skills needed to create consciously. Now is the time, and I intend for these writings to be practical in every way possible.
This first blog is about ‘growing’ conscious awareness. What does conscious awareness really mean? I will give you my definition of it: to be conscious is to be aware of 1) the thoughts running through the mind, 2) the emotions happening within your being, and 3) the body sensations you are feeling in any moment.
This has been my ongoing work for years… for many others as well. To be conscious means I am fully PRESENT with myself… my thoughts… my emotions… my body sensations and can respond to my life grounded and centered. So often, we live our lives in reaction mode. We spend our lives and expend our energies in fight and flight. I’m sure you’ve heard this before. So… how do we switch gears moving from reaction to response?
The simple answer is learn to be present in the moment with yourself. This is simple, yet not easy. In the next blog, we’ll look at the mechanics of being present in the moment. Meanwhile, I hope you will ponder where you are with being conscious in your life.
